What we built
A workshop studio is a retail space that has to work like a classroom. Guests come in groups, sit at long tables for a few hours, and need room to spread out a project, light to see what they are painting, a sink to clean up, and restrooms close by. The finished suite has a bar counter with drink fridges just inside the front doors, a patterned accent wall, two restrooms, rows of work tables under an open ceiling with pendant lights, a tool wall, display shelves for finished pieces, and a cabinet and sink counter by the corner windows.
The build-out took about four weeks, from April 8 to May 6, 2024, run by project manager Justin Stangel. A short schedule in a retail center means the trades follow each other closely and the opening date does not move. Our retail construction and tenant improvement pages cover how we plan a build-out like this one.
